What is the FSA:

The FSA is a test given to all students in grades 4 and 7 in all schools in BC to provide a snapshot of how the school system is performing in the areas of Math and English. Every student in these two grades is expect to write the FSA to ensure data collected is relevant and complete. This test is designed to assess how well the educational system is performing and highlight areas of concern or success for further investigation.

The FSA issue is very complex for more information you can see the links on the SD#5 website and the BCCPAC website. DPAC is trying to get input from the parents of our district, we have a questionnaire online that all parents are welcome to take. Just see the announcements page on our website.

Welcome to Southeast Kootenay DPAC Blog

Welcome to the Southeast Kootenay DPAC Blog. We wanted to create a space where PACs and parents could discuss issues, ask for help or advice from other schools in the district, or just come to meet other parents. All we ask is that all comments are kept appropriate and when posting about our partners or school communities we ask that you use professional titles instead of personal names. The Blog, while moderated, is open to all and we do not require you to create an account or log in.

Look forward to talking with you all.
